Training Ship Exmouth; personal record book. Photo showing 1 of 13 similar ledgers. Each volume demonstrated gross deformation of binding (due to having been over-stuffed with inserts, letters etc) as well as a high degree of surface dirt with multiple tears and creasing throughout.
The project was intended to stabilise the items and return them to a state where they could be safely used by readers. Treatment for each was estimated at 3 weeks.
